Overnight in Dublin

Begins with a quick stop at the Church of Ireland.

Here one may partake of the Holy food and Drink.

Then, a cruise down the same streets trodden by the famous native sons known the world over as novelists, dramatists, poets and wits.

It was a long, tiring trip to get here and now it's time to lay us down to sleep.

Camino Traing (final) # 3

For our final Camino training walk with Gus we went up to Cutthroat Pass which is part of the Pacific Crest Trail.

As per usual, he took the lead all the way up and we followed  along.

This hike has some of the best high Alpine views and it was a beautiful day !

Luckily, there were no porcupines for Gus to protect us from and no quills to remove from his snout...this time.

Once we broke out of the woods we walked on all kinds of different trails which would be great training for the Camino.

The closer we got to the summit, the more weary Gus the Youngster became and began calling for more and more frequent breaks.

However, after a few hours all of us did make it to the top with it's view of Glacier Peak off in the distance!

Then, after lunch we headed back down which always goes much quicker.

In closing here's a shot of Gus to show Scale and how for a little guy, he's a tough hiker.

In a few days we head for Spain and a lot more walking.
Adios!

Camino Training #2

Today, we went up to Maple Pass (2117 meters/ 6945 feet)
which is higher than our first and hardest day in the Pyrenees, but that doesn't mean anything...really.  The only thing that means anything is we keep training and have fun.

Gus is quite the little hiker for only being 5 months old.  However, we do often carry him to not blow out his developing hips and joints.

Four miles up and then 3 miles down: Lake Ann, Black Peak and Rainey Lake.

Smoke from the wildfires clouded distant views of peaks,
but we could breath without problem.

Training for the Camino

 Winter 2020

We moved to Mazama to live there year round and made it through a winter with lots of snow and XC skiing.

Now it's 2021 summer 😎  time and
we are training for The Camino in September by hiking every other day in the North Cascades.
I also need to relearn how to post on this blog again. It's been so long 😪 that it's a Bear !
Stay tuned....
